Whispers of Waitaha Feedback

A letter expressing gratitude for the teachings.

I am reading your book. It is so beautiful that I just want to lie down inside the pages and rest. I want to let the beauty and wisdom of the book infuse me. This is such a gift … to your people … and to all of us in this world.

There is a practice in the Christian tradition called “lecto divinio”, which means “sacred reading”. It is a form of prayer. One selects a sacred text and reads until a particular word, or passages moves them. There they stop and quietly meditate, or pray, until they feel it is time to go on. So I am reading your book as the sacred text that it is.

I am reading slowly … with awe, delight and reverence. I am learning … and yet, in some ways, it feels as if I am also remembering. Although I am from a different culture than you are, I am also a woman so I too carry the memory of the truth of which you write.

Thankyou for this beautiful work.
